Graduation Information:

I am so excited that we are able to give our graduates this formal commencement ceremony this year!  I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that this year’s ceremony will be different from past years but also to be clear that it will be special and will honor our graduates.  Let us all come together in celebration of our graduates this year and a common understanding that the parameters put in place to allow for this commencement ceremony are necessary to keep everyone as healthy and safe as possible.

Yours, Mr. Ott

Sunday Startup

Hello Cougars and Cougar Families, this is Mr. Ott with your weekly update.

This week, I want to start by focusing on the upcoming Spring assessments.  Per the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), no remote administrations are available for any statewide summative assessments.

Testing begins each morning at 7:20 a.m.  LaunchEd students should arrive on campus on their testing dates no later than 7:10 a.m. and report directly to their testing rooms.

Room assignments will be shared with students via school email, Cougar Corner, and teachers one week prior to each testing date.

Face-to-Face students will test in separate rooms from LaunchEd and students will be socially distant with a minimum of six feet between desks.

Masks are required at all times while on campus and temperatures will be taken upon arrival.

LaunchEd students are encouraged to provide their own transportation and are required to leave campus as soon as testing is complete.  If you are are/have a LaunchEd student that would normally ride the bus, please watch your email next week (3/29-4/2) for an important transportation opportunity.

Uber and Lyft are not allowed on our campus, so please plan accordingly.

Students should be finished with testing by 11:00 a.m. each day unless they receive extended time as per an IEP/504/ELL plan.

Assessment dates are as follows:

FSA ELA - ALL 9th & 10th grade students
Reading Session 1 - May 6, 2021
Reading Session 2 - May 7, 2021

FSA EOC - ALL Algebra 1 & Geometry students
Session 1 - May 10, 2021

Your fully up-to-date school laptop is required for you to test.   Please make sure that you have updated your laptop at an OCPS site prior to testing and that your laptop has the secure browser loaded.  It will install on its own as long as you restart and update it at an OCPS school site. To update, please park close enough to an OCPS school/site to login with wifi.

Students, it is imperative that you continually check your school email accounts and Cougar Corner for testing information.
