Dear Cougar Families,
A 9–1 regular season, and our Cougars are headed to the postseason! Congratulations to our football players and coaches on an outstanding season. They have worked hard for this, and I am so proud of what they have accomplished. Our band, cheerleaders, majorettes, and Golden Cougars dance team have helped make game nights at University special, along with our students, staffulty, families, and alumni cheering from the stands. There is so much excitement surrounding this team, and we are ready to keep it going!
That same Cougar spirit carries into the ways our students care for our community. Our Student Government Association has set a goal of providing Thanksgiving meals for 100 families this month. I love seeing our students use their leadership to help others and bring people together for a meaningful cause.
Our students give us so much to celebrate, and I hope you take a few minutes to enjoy their accomplishments throughout this edition. Thank you for supporting their interests, recognizing their efforts, and showing up for them. It means a great deal to our students to know their Cougar community is behind them.
Keep wearing your blue and gold every Friday. We have more football ahead of us!
Go Cougars!

Halloween Costume Day!
On Friday, October 30th, students had the opportunity to show off their Halloween spirit by coming to school dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes! From spooky and creative to funny and unique, our Cougars did not disappoint! It was so much fun seeing the creativity, enthusiasm, and school spirit our students brought to campus. We love seeing everyone get into the holiday spirit and find fun ways to celebrate together. Thank you to all of our students who participated and helped make the day so festive! We can't wait to see what our Cougars come up with next year!

Concert Choir at the Disney Half Marathon!
On Sunday, October 25th, our talented Concert Choir had the exciting opportunity to perform at the Disney Half Marathon! Our students represented our school beautifully, sharing their musical talents and helping bring energy, excitement, and encouragement to runners as they made their way through the race. What an amazing opportunity to showcase their hard work and dedication outside of the classroom while being part of such a special event! We are so proud of our Concert Choir and grateful for the opportunity they had to represent our Cougars in such a memorable way. Great job, Cougars!

**What Are You Thankful For, Cougars?**
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we want to hear what our Cougars are thankful for! Take a moment to reflect on the people, experiences, opportunities, and little things that make a difference in your life. Stop by and share what you are thankful for so we can display your responses around campus for everyone to see!
Whether it's family, friends, teachers, your favorite memories, or something that simply makes you smile, we want to celebrate all the things that make our Cougar community special. Let's spread a little gratitude and remind one another of all the reasons we have to be thankful!

Coach Shoutout: Coach Carrington!
We would like to give a HUGE shoutout to Coach Carrington for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to our University High School Cougars!
Thanks to his leadership, hard work, and ability to hold his players accountable both on and off the field, our Varsity Football team made history this season by finishing with an incredible 9-1 record! This marks the team's best season record since 2013, when the Cougars finished 8-4. This accomplishment is a true reflection of the culture, discipline, and determination that Coach Carrington works hard to instill in his athletes. His impact goes beyond the scoreboard, as he continues to challenge his players to grow, push themselves, and represent University High School with pride.
Outside of the football field, Coach Carrington also dedicates his time to coaching wrestling, staying active at the gym, and serving as a pastor. Whether he is coaching, mentoring, or serving others, it is clear that leadership and helping those around him succeed are important parts of who he is.
We are incredibly grateful to have someone who pours so much time, energy, and passion into our students and athletic programs. Congratulations on an amazing season, Coach Carrington, and thank you for everything you do for our Cougars! Your impact does not go unnoticed!
