Celebrating Excellence, Building Pride, One Student at a Time

Welcome to the Cougar Roar, your source for celebrating the amazing accomplishments, talents, and moments that make our Cougar Pride shine! Each edition will highlight the students, staffulty, and events that make our school community something to be proud of.

Principal's Message:

Dear Cougar Families,

Last week was one of those weeks that makes me especially proud to be your principal. Hispanic Heritage Night was a beautiful celebration of our community, filled with art, performances, and food. Thank you to our Spanish department, students, staffulty, and families for keeping this tradition alive and making it such a special evening.

Friday, we had the opportunity to share our Cougar pride with an even larger audience through FOX35 Football Blitz! I loved seeing our students and staffulty come together and show viewers a little of what makes University special. Our students have so much to offer, and having the opportunity to celebrate them beyond our campus means a great deal. I hope you had a chance to catch our Cougars on TV!

Our football team is 7–1, and we are carrying that excitement into Crush Colonial Week! Our Student Government Association is also taking on Colonial’s SGA in a friendly competition to raise money for charity. This year, our students are supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. I am proud of them for putting their enthusiasm and creativity toward helping others.

Friday brings our pep rally and the Boot Game, continuing the University–Colonial tradition of competing for the boot-shaped trophy. Come early to celebrate our seniors during Senior Night before kickoff, then stay to cheer on our Cougars when the game begins at 7 p.m. I hope to see you there!

Remember, every Friday is Blue and Gold Friday! Whether you are on campus or out in the community, wear your colors proudly and help us show our Cougar pride.

Go Cougars!

Cougar Celebrations

Spanish Honor Society hosted a successful Hispanic Heritage Night filled with performances and a celebration of the rich cultures, traditions and talent within our school community! The evening showcased the beauty and diversity of Hispanic cultures, providing an opportunity to come together, learn and celebrate.

A special thank-you goes to the Spanish Honor Society members, sponsors and performers whose hard work helped bring this event to life. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this celebration of culture and community!

Clubs and Organizations

Our Cougars stepped into the spotlight this past Friday when Fox 35 News featured our school! Theatre and SGA students, along with our football team, Golden Cougars and majorettes, represented UHS and showcased the talent, energy and school spirit that make our campus special. It was an exciting opportunity to share our Cougar pride with the wider community and celebrate the students who contribute so much to our school.

The feature also provided a chance to recognize our principal’s hard work, dedication and commitment to UHS. Thank you to everyone who helped represent our school and made this a memorable morning. We loved seeing our Cougars shine!

Recognizing the incredible teachers and staff who help our students succeed every day.

We would like to give a special shoutout to Mrs. Davila for her hard work and dedication in helping make Hispanic Heritage Night a success! Her efforts helped create a meaningful celebration of the cultures, traditions and talents within our school community, giving students an opportunity to share and take pride in their heritage.

Beyond this event, Mrs. Davila works hard to support our students and help them feel valued and encouraged. We are grateful for the time, care and energy she gives to our Cougar community. Thank you, Mrs. Davila, for all you do to celebrate and uplift our students!
