Principal’s Message

Hello Cougars and Cougar Families!!
As the summer days begin to wane, the excitement signaling the imminent return of our incredible students and the start of another vibrant academic year at University High School is building! It is with immense pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you all back to what promises to be a year of continued growth, learning, and achievement.
This upcoming school year marks the beginning of my sixth year as your Principal, and I reflect on the past five years with a heart full of gratitude and pride. Together, we have cultivated a truly special environment, building what we affectionately call our "Cougar Culture." This culture is more than just a motto; it's a living testament to our shared values of respect, resilience, academic rigor, and unwavering community spirit. It's evident in our hallways, on our athletic fields, in our classrooms, and in every collaborative effort that makes UHS such a unique and supportive place to learn and thrive.
The successes of the past five years—from outstanding academic achievements and athletic triumphs to impactful community service projects and flourishing arts programs—are a direct result of the dedication of our students, the tireless efforts of our faculty and staff, and the invaluable partnership with our supportive parents and guardians. We have consistently strived for excellence, and our "Cougar Culture" has been the bedrock upon which these successes are built.
As we embark on this new chapter, I am more excited than ever about the possibilities that lie ahead. Our commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience remains unwavering. We will continue to challenge our students intellectually, foster their creativity, encourage their leadership, and support their social and emotional well-being. We are dedicated to ensuring every student feels valued, empowered, and prepared for their future endeavors.
To our returning students: I can't wait to see your familiar faces and hear about your summer adventures. Get ready to reconnect with friends, dive into new subjects, and embrace all the opportunities that await you. To our new students and families: Welcome to the Cougar family! We are thrilled to have you join our community and look forward to helping you find your place and flourish here.
Let us carry forward the momentum of our "Cougar Culture" into the new year, working together to achieve even greater heights. I am confident that with your continued partnership and dedication, this will be another remarkably successful and memorable year for University High School.
Enjoy these last few days of summer, and I eagerly anticipate welcoming you all back very soon!
Warmly,
Mr. Tom Ott, Principal, University High School
