UCF Junior Knights

UCF is offering a FREE program, called Junior Knights, for high school students that are interested in computer programming. Led by UCF faculty member Mr. Arup Guha and UCF undergraduate students, this program is designed for students who have never programmed before as well as those who have a background in programming. Junior Knights will meet on selected Saturdays from 10am - 1pm on UCF's main campus. Students are required to bring their own laptop. Each semester is meant to be a stand-alone "class" where the sessions build upon themselves, therefore, those who attend the majority of the class meetings will benefit the most.

Junior Knights offers three courses: one in Python for beginners, one in C for beginners who have a strong math background, and one in Java to review for the AP Computer Science exam. The Java course specifically will focus on preparing students for the AP Computer Science A exam in May. Mr. Guha hopes to provide extra practice for local students and increase the number of students in the Orlando area who pass the exam. Please note that if there is enough interest for a second course in either Python or C, we will attempt to accommodate the request. The sign-up form allows students to indicate if they want to take a second course in either C or Python. Adjustments will be made based on student interest.
